END OF WATCH: The Clayton County Police Department is saddened to hear of the death of Henry County Police Department Officer Michael Smith.

The seven-year veteran of the department was shot in the line of duty on Dec. 6, 2018 and died from his injuries on Dec. 28, 2018.

The Clayton County Department sends our deepest condolences to Officer Smith’s family, friends and fellow officers.

If something happens to one of us, it is felt by ALL of us!

A special thanks goes out to Spike's K-9 Fund & K-9 Storm Inc (manufacturers) out of Canada. They provide vests for law enforcement & military dogs. The vests are custom sized, fitted & manufactured for each dog. 
Niko(Police K-9) is sporting one of these new all black ballistic vest with “Police” decals on the side. Niko is ready for work......bad guys be aware!!!!
