Armed Robbery Suspect Captured

On January 25 and February 12, 2019, Armed Robberies occurred at the Family Dollar located at 8500 Hwy 85, Riverdale. Information from LT. CRISS on March 12 stating his jurisdiction (City of Riverdale) also had two robberies with the same MO (The male would come into the store and hide in the stockroom, change clothing and rob the store after it closed and exit out the rear door). In Riverdale’s last robbery, the suspect stated to one of the victims “tell GEORGE this is payback for how he treated me when I worked here.”

CCPD was able to locate the suspect CORY LATTIMORE and found he was a prior employee of Family Dollar and had been terminated after he hid in the stockroom and tried to burglarize his own store after employees left.

Arrest warrant were secured (1) by Riverdale and (10) Clayton County.

While LT. CRISS was conducting surveillance on LATTIMORE on March 21, he observed LATTIMORE remove the tag from his vehicle and thought he may try to strike again. LT. CRISS contacted CCSO Swat Unit and members of both agencies executed a search warrant on LATTIMORE’s residence after taking him into custody. LATTIMORE was transported to the City of Riverdale Police Department where he admitted to all robberies.
