Here at the Clayton County Police Department, we
believe Crime prevention works. It is
cheaper, safer, and healthier for communities to prevent crime than to have to
treat its victims, deal with its perpetrators, and lose civic health and
productivity in our community. Teens initiating Change spent the day at the
Clayton County Police Department. We started with The Department “Crime
Analysis Project Strategies” meeting also known as C.A.P.S. In this meeting Chief K. Roberts and
his command staff meet with all departments heads as well as other law
enforcement agencies to discuss each department’s current events.
From there, we toured the 911 center and got a
feel for the fast paced, high 911 call volume.
Now that the 911 center has recently pickup more cities to which they dispatch
for as well. These cities include Riverdale and Morrow, to name a few.
We later moved on to the
Criminal Investigation Division (aka CID) and found the interview and
interrogation room fascinating.
Finally, we paid a visit to
the evidence room and was able to observe some green leafy substance in the
process of being tested for court purposes.
